We took the afternoon train to Fairbanks so we could get on the Dalton Highway the next morning for a long day's drive to the Arctic Circle...

Crossing the only bridge across the Yukon River...

Truckers & hunters lodge... They had to shoot a large male grizzly bear inside here a few years back...

Looking back to the bridge...

Miche & I on the banks of the Yukon...

The road was unsealed and had an Ice Road Truckers feel to it in places...

Miche at the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline ...

The pipeline moves within its cradle as the temperatures change from season to season...

Wild blueberries, we also ate wild lingonberries (low cranberry)...

With the mayor of the tiny village of Joy...

Impressive toilet facilities...

Well ventilated...

Great place, full of character...

We passed on the opportunity to buy this nice little runabout...

Near Finger Rock deep in the Tundra...

We reach the Arctic Circle... Miche with Alan the guide...

These were on the breakfast table, I thought they were lychees and put a couple on my plate only to find they were plastic, not before the waitress had reached me to tell me...

Miche packs ready for the flights to Seattle...

Next stop - Seattle
