Day 5 - Part 2 - Masai Village

Wildebeest (or gnu)... have acquired a reputation for stupidity... one local children's tale has it that they were made up from the spare parts from other animals as an afterthought... and is said to have the mane of a lion; the horns of a hartebeest; the face of a grasshopper; the tail of a giraffe, but unfortunately a brain couldn't be found, until eventually a fly was willing to give up half of his, so they have half the brain of a fly...

A young buffalo calf gets some motherly attention...

A quick nose inspection from an Oxpecker bird...

We stopped for a picnic breakfast near a pool of hippos...

Some hippo lovin'...

While being famously aggressive, they seemed happy to cohabit with the local crocodiles...

Hyena sporting an old wound...

Dik Dik...

Part of the biggest group of giraffes that we saw...

The way they walked had a look reminiscent of the scene in Reservoir Dogs where Mister's Blond, Blue, Pink, etc were walking down the street...

Another group of lions as dusk approached...

An elephant about 300 yards from the camp...

Hammock time...

In the main tent... Justyn & Rebecca on the left and Simon and then Jane on the right...

Miche relaxing...

Entrance to the camp...
