Return to Cornwall 2018 - Part 1 - Mevagissey & St Michaels's Mount
Table with a view, breakfast at the Queens Hotel, a slightly faded grand dame of seaside hotels...
Leaving the harbour for our wildlife boat cruise with Marine Discovery, possibly more in hope than expectation in the conditions...
Jon & Nic kitted up...
Going for the Aussie bush look...
Hoping for a tiny swell so that I wouldn't share my breakfast delights with a bit of chumming...
Miche emerging from the bowels of the boat.
..
You won't get wet they said, except for these holes that in the right conditions gave surprise, salty enemas...
We did see the Minack Theatre (below) and plenty of guls, even a seal or two, but no
basking sharks or Risso's dolphins.
Better than one poor lady who's sea-legs were far worse than mine, who we last saw lying next to a bucket on the dock where we disembarked...
After Penzance it was off to Padstow and a stay at another old lady of the British seaside
...
The National Lobster Hatchery, one of my favourite UK destinations, in and out in just a few minutes, but interesting and doing great work.
Captain Barnacles...
Well, we couldn't go to Padstein and not indulge and to be fair, his team do a great fish and chips...
Not sure who is more red, the cooked prawn or me...
A little local sampler before our last night and the morning's trip home, which was fortunately a mere 4.5 hours...
