Sun Bowl

The top of Harmony had been closed for the previous 2 days and we were lucky enough to be some of the first into a fresh Sun Bowl - twice!  The benefit of being there midweek without the weekend crowds...

Me...

Exiting Sun Bowl and about to drop into the trees over the ridge...

Andy putting in some wiggly lines...

Dave descending Sun Bowl and looking over to an untracked Symphony Bowl, which was just about to open giving us access to Flute Summit and more fresh turns...

Flute Bowl

After a sweaty hike we reached the top of Flute Peak...

Hello...

Looking for an entrance to drop into...

Laura after dropping in...

Ian picks his line...

and down...

Andy and a camera-on-a-stick...

Ian...

Looking down, we had the place to ourselves at this point...

Ian, Andy and Dave's fancy base graphics...

Those grabs are a lot easier on the ground...

After a hike back to the top you realise that despite its huge vertical, Whistler is pretty low lying compared to other resorts - Flute Summit is only 2012 metres...

Another hike for more fresh turns...

Looking down...

Dave...

Our playground awaits...

Andy & Dave above the cornice on Flute Summit...

Laura descending...

Ian...

Ski Patrol checking the huge cornice...

Looking back up to the smaller cornice line on the further bowl after the last descent of the day... Symphony Chair closes pretty early and you have to time it right or it's a long walk back...
