A pre-Christmas visit to Vienna, my first return
since Interrailing there with Dave Bennison 30 years ago. On that occasion we slept on the
pavement outside the railway station; Miche & I thought we'd better have a few more creature comforts
on this trip, well it was winter...
Following an evening arrival and airport
shuttle into the city we headed to the Salm Bräu brewery to try some traditional
Viennese fayre. I know it sounds a bit beer-nerdy, but previous experience has
taught us that, good microbreweries generally have great authentic local &
simple cuisine.
Luckily we'd booked well in advance, as there was a long
queue of people waiting for a table.
Miche tackling the menu...
Prost! with a Böhmisch G´mischt (Bohemian mix)...
A Christmas beer seemed a like a good idea too, at 6.5% maybe just the one...
And with dessert, when it's hard to choose - have one of everything...
The brewing equipment is from their own brewing equipment factory...
