Our last day in Vienna and time for our hike to the suburbs to visit the Snowglobe Museum.

Good to see that Pierce Brosnan is a big Spar customer...

At the Am Hof Advent Christmas Market, much less crowded and it also had some more unusual crafts, but why do I always fall for the nougat temptation and I'm always shocked at the price by which time I'm committed.

Cafe Sacher

After a short wait for a table, even on a Monday afternoon, we had lunch at Cafe Sacher, part of Hotel Sacher - home of the Sacher Torte.

Just as I couldn't leave Vienna without a Sacher Torte, I couldn't leave without a Wiener Hot Dog either. As delivered...

Miche and our Sacher Tortes and Melanges. Had we built the Sacher Tortes up too much in advance? They were nice, but only a small variation on a chocolate sponge cake really and a little dry...

Stephansdom - Giant's Gate and Heathen Towers. The Giant's gate got its name not just by its size, but also by a thighbone of a mastodon that was discovered in 1443 when digging the foundation for the north tower and later hung over the gate....

Day 5 - Travel home

Miche in the hotel room as we checked we were all packed and the many snowglobes were secure and amply padded in our hold luggage, as they would fall foul of carry-on liquid rules on the flight...
