Our plane for the flight north to Lizard Island...

Our group was in three identical planes. Below... taxiing to the runway...

Looking across to the mainland as we head out to sea...

It was amazing flying in formation, we had the centre plane and therefore had planes flanking both sides...

We flew as low as 500 feet and had great views of the reefs beneath us...

Wreck of a freighter high and dry on a reef...

Enticing glimpses of the reef and beautiful blue water...

First sight of our boat for the next few days...

Cockpit view of coming into land. Lizard Island is well named, as we approached we could see plenty of 3 foot long Monitor Lizards on the runway!

Watching another plane in our group coming in to land...

Ants making off with a butterfly...

One of the many Monitor Lizards on the island...

Boarding the dinghy for the transfer to the Super Sport...
