An early start to avoid any crowds on the boardwalks, Miche gets her planning head on to work out a schedule to see as many geysers as possible erupting - not easy when many only erupt a couple of times a day with a prediction accuracy of 2 hours either side.
A grey start, but there are plenty of vents steaming...
Sinter deposits give a coral reef look to some of the smaller springs...
After a period of teasing bubbling and mini spurts, away she goes...

As well as geese we saw bison and an Osprey happily meandering around the geysers and hot vents. Quite a risk for a bison as the crust is thin in places and boiling pools are lethal - apparently a young bison fell into Blue Star Spring in 96/97 and the area smelled of beef soup for days...

It was cloudy, otherwise it would have made a more impressive picture...
To clear it out, the park induced an eruption to clear out the rubbish... they found plenty of coins and various other objects including some pants...
After a missed eruption the day before, Castle Geyser burst into life just as we were about to leave the Park...
After the day trippers have left, the boardwalks are empty and we have the geysers to ourselves again...
