They had hosted the start of the Jodhpur RIFF music festival the night before and the fort wasn't ready to open when we arrived...

Impressive walls, it was understandable why it had never been successfully besieged...

View of the Umaid Bhawan Palace peeking out in the distance above the hazy, smoggy city...

While we all clutched our bottled water and alcoholic sanitising gels, the locals had to be more free with where they sourced their drinking water...

There were local tourists also waiting to get in.

The heavily teated dog was the mother or mistress of a number of puppies and dogs that were nearby...

Behind the sturdy outer walls more decorative buildings could be found, this was just one of several beautiful and elaborate palaces...

There was an exhibition of palanquins and howdahs - I particularly like the lion on this howdah...

I've seen this guy in other older photo's, I think he's been paid for years to look chilled out next to this bubble pipe...

Miche in one of the courtyards - we had audio guide headphones on, which make some people look like they have long dark sideburns (when I say 'some people' I just mean Miche)...
