Forum with Mount Vesuvius in the distance; prior
to its eruption it was a single huge cone in the middle and much higher than
today...

Museum exhibits...
Casts of people,
created from the voids created by the ash that fell. The ash was porous, so
the organic items it entombed decayed over the years to leave empty spaces
which were filled with plaster to create these casts...
