Return to Singapore Day 1

Coming to terms with the time zone changes as we move east, we're up by 7:00 and I head to the roof for a swim...  

My ripples break up the reflection...

After a breakfast of fruits and chicken curry, we head out for a wander down to the river.

Time for some Sir Stamford impressions...

The SkyPark - a huge interpretation of a Bumboat sits on top of three 55-Story towers containing a massive casino and hotel.

Much of the rest of the morning involved discussions around whether Miche would conquer her fear of heights and go up to the roof..

 One of the large terrapins we saw in the bay during the walk to the SkyPark... a walk largely in silence as Miche contemplated the ascent...

 Miche did beat her fears and make it to the top and took this photo, but wasn't able to bring herself to the edge itself (the occasional rumble of thunder probably didn't help!)...

A shame, as the views over Marina Bay and the city were fantastic...

The Float - yep, a floating football pitch and 30,000 seat grandstand...

Just some of the hundreds of massive ships that use Singapore as a safe haven in the region. We'd seen them as the plane came in to land looking like a huge D-Day invasion force...
