Return to Cradle Mountain - Day 1 - Travel & Lodge
Return to Cradle Mountain - Day 2 - Dove Lake Circuit & Devils@Cradle
We returned to Dove Lake the next day to take on the hike to Marion's Lookout and found the sky even clearer and bluer than the day before.
With the incredibly varied terrain, views and vegetation, this was one of the best walks I've ever done.

Miche at Dove Lake, like yesterday, but with a glorious blue sky...

First part of the walk was the hike past Lake Lilla...

With Miche at Wombat Pool...

Ascending the path above Wombat Pool...

A few steeper sections nearer the top...

Glorious view over Crater Lake...

Miche at the top of Marion's Lookout, the start of the famous 5 or 6 day overland track to Lake St Clair...

Me with Lake Lilla and Dove Lake behind...

A venomous White-Lipped Snake at the summit...

A look at Cradle Mountain & Dove Lake before heading down (I will check my lens is clean next time!)...

Looking back up to Marion's Lookout...

Miche and the boat house on Crater Lake - a bit of an awkward spot to get a boat to...

View from the boat house...

Miche heading down through the Pandanas...

One of the waterfalls on the way down...

A Tasmanian Hen, sometimes known as a 'Turbo Chook' due to its fast pace. We'd seen one the night before
on a spotlight tour standing in the middle of a pool - they do this
even in freezing cold water to deter predators and to hear them coming
if it doesn't act as a deterrent...

Cradle Mountain from afar as we join the track down to the Ranger Station in the valley...

A Currawong with its distinctive yellow eyes...

Next stop - Launceston
