Return to Day 3 - Tortuguero

A longish day of travel as we leave Tortuguero and head to La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano.

The first two hours are spent retracing our route along the canos back to the roadhead.

Sloth high in a tree nearby...

An unscheduled stop for a puncture, gave an impromptu opportunity to use some basic facilities...

 

All was not lost even in an abandoned layby, there were leafcutter ants to watch and Chestnut-Mandibled Toucans high up in a tree...

We stopped at a local supermarket - Bimbo bread...

These biscuits are Tosh...

Cleaning your sink with this Jif would be a bit messy...

Finally we pull into La Fortuna and Arenal has a lenticular cap...

Miche with her Grandma's chicken at the Don Rufino Restaurant in town, Grandma puts chocolate & coffee in her chicken and it tasted delicious, the desserts were amazing too...
