Quite a long travel day as we left the cloud forest and headed south on the Pan-American Highway to the coast and lowland rainforest.
Pictures of our cabin at Monteverde on the morning we left...

We stopped at Tarcoles for a crocodile & bird safari and didn't have to go far up river to find either of them.
Possibly as a result of trips in the past feeding them, rather than hiding, the crocs would come towards the boats...

Brahman cattle drink nervously at the river's edge...

Roseate Spoonbill...

Mangrove Swallow...

Bromeliads loading a tree...

Great Kiskadee...

Basilisk Lizard...

Another Crocodile near the dock...

Urinals...

Banded Peacock on a flower about 5 feet from the same outdoor urinals...

We had lunch in Jaco, which looked like a slightly shabby party town...

Scarlet Macaws near Tarcoles. Now very rare, we saw this flock from the roadside, very high in the trees and 100's of yards away ...
