Florida Day 3 - 22nd May 2012

Florida Keys 

We bought a bucket of fish each and joined a couple of others feeding the Tarpon at Robbie's Marina...

Some of the Tarpon were over 6 feet long - here two huge pairs of eyes consider the fishy treat on offer...

These fish were huge and incredibly fast, a real shock when you felt the mouths on your hand.

I couldn't find a decent photo of Miche or I feeding them, but you can still see the small fish entering the tarpon's mouth in this one.

Nearly the whole body would leave the water on some lunges...

If the tarpon didn't want the fish there were plenty of others that would take it...

The pelicans would look all coy, but wouldn't miss a trick if an opportunity arose...

The chap was caught out in a Jurassic Park velociraptor-esque pincer movement...

A Snowy Egret & a Great Egret on an old chair near the bar entrance...

Miche and I not quite at the most southern point of the continental USA - that would be the off-limits naval base out of shot.

We couldn't find the Hemingway house and plaque, so settled for this one..

We did find one of his old watering holes though...

Beautiful sunset as we drove back to the motel...
