Introduction and Days 1 & 2

Day 9 - A day spent largely going up and down valleys, hence the lack of photo's. By now we were beginning to get wary of days described as "undulating". Today took us over 4000m for the first time on the trip and unfortunately towards the end Paul J started to bring up blood and was definitely not himself.

Crossing the new bridge with the old bridge below...

Andrea, Lakpa & big Karmi approaching the Stupa and carvings on the way to Pangboche...

Kani (archway) near Pangboche. Tengboche/Thyangboche can still be seen in the distance...

Some yaks taking a well earned breather. Unless I was going mad with the altitude, these huge, strong animals make tiny squeaking noises as they pass you on the trail. Probably yak for "lets push this fat one off the edge", but I like to think of it as something more wholesome.

Yaks crossing the wooden bridge at the Lobuche Khola & Irmja Khola confluence...

John walking towards our tea house at Dingboche. The toilet was given a 9/10 rating when we first arrived, praise indeed - scoring highly for being both an unexpected sit-down toilet with a seat and being in tiled clean room; it was closed for health & sanitation reasons within 24hrs of our sole occupancy - it hadn't been connected properly at the base and after a while you were sitting in a little pond of shared group slurry - hungrily absorbed by your shoelaces.
