Mud, Tortoises & Mangrove Snorkelling
We broke camp and descended the 10km to get to the Sierra Negra park entrance before going to a Tortoise breeding centre and then having the afternoon free to snorkel and explore Puerto Villamil.

horses had created a very pot-holed set of ladders on the steep
sections and a few had arse-to-floor moments over the couple of days we
were trekking...
Despite
having to clear breakfast and take down and pack the tents - the
cowboys arrived just a few minutes later, but they were on horses...

This was the slickest looking centre we'd seen.

Tortoises seem to have a habit of just walking in the direction they want to go regardless of what is in the way...

They were largely quiet, but do make the odd hissing sound...
After leaving the centre we had a picnic lunch on a boardwalk and then made our way back to our hotel along the beach.

Snorkelling
We went down to an area near the dock for what we thought would be a quiet snorkel - however it turned out to be a super popular spot to enter the water, but once away from the ladder it was easy to get away from the crowd.
