Part 1 - Boats, Sharks and Frigate Birds in their Pomp
The
eagerly anticipated trip to Kicker Rock - I had pretty much everything
crossed that we might see sharks and in particular a Hammerhead Shark
The boat headed for Kicker Rock along the shoreline so we could search for wildlife.

Impressive coverage - clearly a popular spot as the Booby guano has totally whitewashed the black volcanic rocks...

We were
very lucky to see a couple of Magnificent Frigate Birds inflating their
red gular pouches even though it was out of the breeding season...

Once one displayed it triggered off others nearby...
We also saw marine Iguanas and sea lions as we passed the coast...

The
group in the water - not everyone came in as the water here is much
deeper and colder than the bays and the current can be strong, though
on the day it was pretty gentle...
In the main channel there plenty of sharks to view - Blacktip Reef Shark...
A group
sharks swimming far below us - I've looked at the next 2 pictures 20 or
30 times in the forlorn hope that I might see the distinctive
Hammerhead shape...

Returning to the boat - no Hammerheads, but still a great snorkel, especially seeing so many Blacktip Sharks...
