Today marked the start of the trek part of the trip and two nights camping on Volcán Sierra Negra.
Welcome sign at the site of the first campsite...
Trekking ponies for another group - we were going on foot...
The
climb started in the mist and Fabian correctly predicted the time it
would take to climb above it. The vegetation at this level was very
used to those conditions and ferns, mosses and liverworts dominated...
