Part 2 - Cacti and Craters
We continued across the younger lavafields and admired the impressive cacti.
The Candelabra Cacti provided the only height...

Typically we posed near a small one - some of them were 3 or 4 times as high as this one...
Approaching a much bigger one...

View landwards to much smaller volcanoes...
Given
we were at the Equator and judging by the shadow I'd say it was 1:56 in
the afternoon when I took this - of course I may have cheated and
looked at the photo timestamp...
Looking up at successive lava fields - the most recent black flow has yet to be softened by weather and vegetation...
You can't have a lava flow without a lava lizard...
Looking down into one of the vents...

Heading back down towards the campsite offered more impressive views of the crater...

On the ridge - Miche not wishing to get too close to the steep edge and 100m drop or it could have been me!
The clouds cascading into the caldera were beautiful...
Most seemed to condense/evaporate as they fell, but occasionally they'd drift across the surface a little way...
