Part 1 - Classic views & Darwin's sleeping bag
A
trip out to Bartolome Island, which lies just of the coast of Santiago
Island. We'd been told that the crossing would be smooth - if only!
As we left the port we were treated to an awesome air display by a large flock of Boobies repeatedly taking off and diving for fish in unison at incredible speed...

It soon
became apparent that the crossing wasn't going to be as smooth as
expected and as much as I wanted to look out for the breaching Manta
Rays, if I didn't want to see my breakfast again, I had to lie down and
just stare at the sky (little did I know it was going to be worse on the way back)...

Like most docks in the Galapagos, Bartolome has its resident unfussed, basking sea lion...
Lava Cactus...

across the various vents on Bartolomé which was 'only' formed
1.5 to 2 million years ago as it's relatively low it hasn't attracted
moisture and therefore its vegetation is very sparse...
It does have a few lava lizards though...
