Before lunch we headed down for a quick wave-jump at a local bay to cool down

Miche after her dip with rows of finches on the nearby rocks as though some sort of Disney film song was about to follow...

La Loberia
A small turtle basking on the beach. We'd only ever seen them on land to lay eggs at night and had never seen one during the day like this before and wondered whether it might be sick. However Fausto said that they often see them lying out here unbothered by humans or sea lions...

It was amazing to see 2 together at such close quarters - at one point I could see 5 at the same time...
Coming up for air...
Completely
relaxed around humans - they would happily swim towards you - makes
such a change from places like some of the sites in Hawaii where
they'll shoot off as they're so used to being chased and hassled by
snorkelers...
Gliding past me as if I wasn't there...
Pencil-Spined Sea Urchins...
Two
more swim by - there was an occasional current that stirred the water
up and would pull you along very fast, but as we were in an enclosed
bay, it still felt safe...
A cloud of sand nearby led me to a Stingray hunting, while being trailed by fish looking for scraps...
Back in town, Miche tries the Opuntia...
